John Carlos Frey

John Carlos Frey is a six-time Emmy Award winning journalist, documentary filmmaker and critically acclaimed author focusing on hard hitting stories that include human rights violations, marginalized communities, government corruption and issues concerning the Latin(x) community.

Frey’s work has been featured on all major national networks such as, NBC, CBS, ABC, Telemundo, Univision and PBS. Cable television productions include The Weather Channel, Discovery Networks, Warner Media, Law & Crime and CNN, as well as streaming platforms such as Netflix, Hulu, Peacock, Paramount Plus and HBO.

His dogged approach to storytelling has sparked nationwide protests, demonstrations, congressional hearings, the empaneling of grand juries, lawsuits, resignations and proclamations throughout the country. His body of work is the subject of curriculum in universities and high schools.

Frey was born in Tijuana, MX and is fluent in English and Spanish allowing for a bi-national perspective. He is awaiting the release of a feature length documentary film for HBO about the cover up of a murder by federal agents set to premiere in 2025. Another documentary about the disappearance and death of over 100 women in the American southwest is currently in pre-production.
