Martha Higareda is one of the most important actresses, producers and screenwriters in Mexico. She has 12 million followers on social media and has been featured on the cover of Forbes magazine as one of their "50 Most Powerful Latinas." Her films have made more than a billion pesos in Mexico and, in 2019, she broke the record as the number one actress at the box office in the country. Notable among her films are Amarte Duele, for which she won the MTV Movie Awards Mexico for Best Actress, Sexo, Amor y Otras Perversiones, for which she won the Silver Goddesses Award in Mexico, and Fuera del Cielo, for which she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress by the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences. Among her box office successes in Mexico are Cásese Quien Pueda, No Manches Frida 1 and 2, and Todos Caen.
Martha has also found success internationally, starring in English-language films such as Street Kings with Keanu Reeves and Forest Whitaker, Lies in Plain Sight, for which she won an Image Award, and Mariachi Gringo, for which she won Best Actress at the Guadalajara International Film Festival. She has also had starring roles on American television shows, such as the Netflix series Altered Carbon, and has appeared as a guest star on many of the country's most popular series. She will soon be one of the stars of the new Fox TV series, Monarch, which premieres in January, and is the producer and star of a new Netflix comedy that premieres in 2022.
